- The date columns display as much of an item’s date and time as possible. Widening the columns allows them to display more information and in longer forms.
- The Label column in a list always displays the label color. To see the label name as well, widen the column.
- Typing characters into a List window searches for files starting with those characters. If you pause typing for more than 2/3 of a second, the search resets.
- If you see an item in the list whose parent folder you would like to move to the trash, do the following: Control-click the item’s icon to open a contextual menu and choose the parent folder from the submenu.
- File Buddy does not compress or decompress archives, but if you have Aladdin's DropStuff™ and Expander™, you can add them to the toolbar item menu. Selected items can then be compressed and expanded conveniently from the List window.
- Put File Buddy droplets in the Open In toolbar item menu to perform common changes.
For example, create a droplet to unlock files, configure it to modify items in folders, and add it to the Open With Application button's pop-down menu.
- To close all open List windows at once, press the Option key and click the close box of one of them or press Command-Option-W.
